Suggested Events for Goddesses - November and December 2009


Dear Goddesses,
I have found these very interesting events, for November and December, that I though would be fun to do, and also close the year in the Christmas Spirit. Please let me know who is interested in order to coordinate. Also, any other ideas or suggestions are most welcome.

* Nov. 14, noon. - Lily's Light:Kites for a Cure, in Crandon Park's South Beach on Key Biscayne. Fee $25. Fee includes a kite, T-shirt and a snack. Donation goes to lung cancer research.

* Nov. 19, 6:30-8:30 pm - Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony (Village of Merrick Park)
Breath-taking 50-foot light tree. Life musical performance by the Coral Gables High School choir, Santa Claus. Also, you can bring an unwrapped toy to donate to "The voices for Children Foundation Toy Drive".

* Nov. 3 and Dec. 2, 7-11pm. Moonlight Canoe Cruise. Take a canoe tour across Biscayne Bay to Chicken Ke under the light of a full moon. Reservations required. Deering Estate at Cutler Ridge.

* Dec. 3-6, various times and venues. Art Basel Miami Beach. International art show exhibiting art from the 20th and 21st century.

* Nov. 20-22, 9:30am - 4:30pm. Ramble-A Garden Festival, at Fairchild Tropical Garden, Old Cutler rd, Coral Gables. Live music, plant sale, raffles.

* Dec. 2-27, evening shows. "Another Night Before Christmas", at Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theater, Coral Gables. Story: A dispirited social worker, is destined to celebrate another lonely X-mas in her NY apartment. On her way home Christmas Eve, she encounters a homeless man with whom she shares some groceries. Later that night, he breaks in claiming to be Santa Claus.

* Live Music Series, every Sat.& Sun., 2pm-6pm. Live music in the "The Garden of Village of Merrick Park", with multicultural mix of Jazz, Bossanova, World Music, Flamenco, Classics, Pop melodies, Contemporary and Latin Grooves.
